Web Design, Graphics and Desktop Publishing

This SIG will explore web design, graphcs and DTP. Adobe software such as Dreamweaver, InDesign and PhotoShop are often used for demos. CMS systems such as WordPress and Drupal are also discussed, as well as coding techniques for CSS and HTML 5.

At the May meeting we explored ways to use divs and floats for page layout. We analyzed and tweaked exisitng layout HTML and CSS, and saw how to manipulate sizes using pixels or percentages. Using Dreamweaver for code adjustments did not work quite as expected which added to the challenge of finding syntax errors.

Future meetings will continue to discuss web related techniques and subjects, however more emphasis will be given to WordPress customization techniques and/or other CMS system..
