3. Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year. Volunteers are the backbone of APCUG and its member groups; they are what keep our groups viable. Volunteers come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities plus they all have a different reason for volunteering. They are idea people and do-it people. All user group volunteers have this in common: their advocacy for technology and their dedication and commitment to their user group.
Groups that have not previously had a member become a VOTY may nominate one of their volunteers they want to recognize and honor. Three judges objectively evaluate candidates against the selection criteria. VOTY nominations will be open from September 1 – 30; the recipient will be announced at the November 3 online annual meeting. More information will be sent to member groups in July.
4. Digital Photo, Newsletter, and Website Contests. The Digital Photo contest is open to all members of your group. Groups will be asked to submit three 2017 newsletters for that contest; groups entering the website contest merely submit their website address. Members and groups that have not been a winner in the last two (2015/2016) contests are eligible to submit entries between September 1 – 30. The winners will be announced at the November 3 online annual meeting. More information will be sent to member groups in July.
